Pegler_0123-1ed_pp WEBHeidi is the Head of Singing at St Paul’s Girls’ School where she steers a team of 10 singing teachers. She conducts all the choirs and co-directs musical productions and operas including Into the Woods, Thorougly Modern Millie, Oliver!, The King and I, Bugsy Malone, Calamity Jane, Sweet Charity, Les Miserables, Grease, The Sound of Music, Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Noyee’s Fludde (Britten), Orpheus and Euridice (Gluck) and Amahl and the Night visitors (Menotti).

Heidi was the Chair of AOTOS (Association of Teachers of Singing) from 2018-2020 and has been involved with their Teacher Training Course and has presented at conferences.

Heidi is an examiner for the ABRSM and was part of the recent upgrade of the singing syllabus. She has presented at several ABRSM seminars on ‘Using the criteria: the unaccompanied traditional song’ and ‘Using the criteria: shape and tone’. She is a member of the ISM and has adjudicated at several singing festivals including the Saffron Walden Music Festival, the Cambridge Festival and the Edinburgh Festival. She has also been invited to work with choirs across the country in specially devised workshop days.

Paulina Voices

Paulina Voices is a chamber choir of 30 girls and has performed at many of London’s leading venues including the Royal Albert Hall and St John’s Smith Square.  They are featured on two CD’s The Coming of Christ – music by Gustav Holst with the City of London Choir (Hilary Davan Wetton) and John Gardner – Cantata for Christmas on which they can be heard singing Tomorrow shall be my dancing day and Angels from the realms of glory, both written by Gardner for the choir of SPGS. The choir specialises in performing the women’s voice parts in Holst’s The Planets which is so closely associated with the school. Other repertoire also includes the off stage choir in The Sea Symphony (Vaughan Williams) and The Nutcraker (Tchaikovsky) and the women’s voices in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Mendelssohn).
